SMOOTH AS SILK SHAVING CRÈME

Zen and the Art of Shaving: when you shave, just shave. Zen philosophy reminds us that beauty lies in the mundane, and this emollient crème turns a habitual task into a slow, sensory pleasure that honors the skin and the moment. Living Libations Zen Shave is an ultra-smoothing lotion designed for a silky, supple, irritation-free finish. Most commercial shaving creams are chemical surfactant-strips, relying on synthetic foaming agents, harsh detergents, alcohols and chemicals that deplete the protective lipid barrier and disrupt the microbiome. With the razor opening your pores and leaving the dermal barrier freshly exposed, absorbing these synthetics makes skin vulnerable to sebaceous imbalance, razor burn, ingrown hairs, and redness. Zen Shave introduces a completely different, biologically compatible botanical approach.

Formulated with a pure, nutrient-dense base of golden Jojoba oil, virgin Coconut oil, and aloe vera, it wraps your skin in luxurious lubrication for an effortless blade glide. This rich crème is a dewy dream elevated by slow-steeped mucilaginous herbal infusions of soothing marshmallow root, slippery elm, and chickweed, imbued with Peppermint which cools shave-induced heat and fortifies the skin's architecture. Rather than leaving you dry and raw, this botanical matrix completely respects and feeds your dermal biome. Shaving transforms from a harsh daily chore into a nourishing caress. It is so genuinely beneficial to the tissue that you can rinse it off or simply massage the remaining crème directly into the skin as a deep moisturizer. Both men and women appreciate the clean, crisp aroma and the high-performance slide and smoothness of this botanical formula. One dime-sized dollop goes a long way for the silkiest post-shave skin.

DIRECTIONS

Both men and women can delight in using this versatile shave crème! Prepare the area to be shaved with a warm, moist towel, or shave during a bath or shower. Smooth a small dollop of the crème onto damp skin, then glide your razor effortlessly. Rinse the area with water if you prefer, or simply massage the remaining nutrient-rich layer directly into your skin for deep, lasting moisture. Zen Shave also works wonders as a soothing aftershave!

ZEN SHAVE: ORGANIC INGREDIENTS

Jojoba Oil — Simmondsia chinensis
Glorious, golden Jojoba quenches and conditions the skin with a molecular structure that mirrors human sebum. Differing from all other plant lipids, Jojoba oil is a liquid plant wax composed of long-chain linear esters, making it the most skin-congruent lipid in the plant kingdom. It is rich in phenolic compounds, phospholipids, and all forms of vitamin E (tocopherols) that provide a structural, breathable barrier for the skin. Jojoba has an unparalleled ability to "unplug" pores by dissolving hardened, oxidized lipids, while its native ceramide content reinforces the skin’s moisture seal to soften the texture into perfect silk. Its high concentration of eicosenoic acid ensures it resists oxidation, acting as a stable, bio-available, breathable shield that integrates seamlessly with the dermal biome.

Virgin Coconut Oil — Cocos nucifera
Our pure, pristine Virgin Coconut oil satiates the skin, offering a manna of moisture and resilience. Unlike refined, fractionated oils, our raw, organic, virgin extract is rich in lauric acid, an antimicrobial medium-chain fatty acid that serves as a natural defense against blemish-causing bacteria. When formulated with quality botanicals, it smoothes the appearance of fine lines while fortifying the skin’s innate immunity.

Herbal Infusions in Jojoba — Simmondsia chinensis
This formula features slow-steeped infusions of five heroic botanicals extracted directly into our golden Jojoba matrix to deliver a lovely glide and structural integrity to your skin. The herbal manna of mucilaginous Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis) offers its emollience. This is paired with Slippery Elm (Ulmus rubra), an additional mucilaginous herb from tree bark that slips moisture deep into the tissue to prevent post-shave dryness and heat. Chickweed (Stellaria media) grows abundantly and bursts with vitamins, including vitamin C, to offer soothing, moisture-rich lubrication that calms freshly shaven skin. Plantain Leaf (Plantago major) is a gentle toner to improve the appearance of pores. And Horsetail (Equisetum arvense), also known as Shavegrass, has been celebrated as a silica rich skin tonic for hundreds of years.

Bladderwrack — Fucus vesiculosus
This succulent seaweed is naturally mucilaginic, being both deeply moisturizing and tonifying for the skin. Thirsty complexions will relish the vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids found in our wild-harvested seaweed extract. Juicy, gelatinous seaweed holds vital moisture inside the tissue to dramatically soothe irritation, plump the skin, and replenish a radiant, healthy glow.

Irish Moss — Chondrus crispus
Irish-Moss is an natural alternative to synthetic emollients in beauty products. In this shave cream, it is used for its helpful herbal properties, caressing the face with a soothing, protective embrace.

Aloe Vera — Aloe barbadensis
Aloe is a botanical gem from the desert that ensures proper balance of moisture and promotes a healthy complexion. It calms the newly revealed dermal barrier and creates an invisible, lush layer on the surface of the skin, helping to lock in essential moisture and vital nutrients.

Orange Wax — Citrus aurantium
This zesty wax is extracted directly from the freshly pressed peels of oranges and is brimming with fabulous phytosterols. It acts as a brilliant, completely natural botanical emulsifier that enhances the creamy stability of the formula, seamlessly entwining our raw plant ingredients together.

Lavender — Lavandula angustifolia
Lulling Lavender delivers an abundance of natural linalool and linalyl acetate, aromatic phytochemicals that work in tandem to keep your complexion completely calm, peaceful, and balanced during and after your shave.

Grapefruit — Citrus paradisi
Gladdening Grapefruit is a cheery, sun-drenched essential oil that is instantly uplifting and euphoric to the senses. It works as a natural, aromatic clarifier to gently cleanse, tone, and refresh the skin, awakening a bright, post-shave glow.

Peppermint — Mentha piperita
Perky Peppermint clears the mind and brings a rich cache of cooling botanical compounds to care for dry, tired, or freshly shaved skin. It enlivens the face, beautifully balances excess sebum production, and leaves the skin feeling tingly, refreshed, and soft.

Sage + Rosemary — Salvia officinalis + Rosmarinus officinalis
These potent and pure plant nectars contain hundreds of botanical bioactives and protective antioxidants. By naturally slowing down the oxidation process, this dynamic herbal duo extends the pristine freshness of our shave crème while delivering cogent nourishment straight to the dermal biome.

ZEN SHAVE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can Zen Shave be used on sensitive skin types prone to acne, eczema, or redness?
Yes. Most shaving substances have synthetic surfactants that trigger defensive inflammatory cascades, leaving acne and sensitive skin highly reactive during a shave. Zen Shave introduces a completely different, skin-synergy lipid matrix with herbal infusions of slippery elm and marshmallow root to soothe the appearance of rough patches. Providing a smooth, frictionless glide that helps prevent flare-ups and keeps skin conditions at bay.

"My 17-year-old son struggles with his battle against acne while also having sensitive skin. Shaving was a brutal enemy to him as it would flare up and exasperate his skin issues on his face... We were thrilled to find this a great match for his skin! He’s able to get a good shave, and it doesn’t flare up his acne or sensitive skin at all."
— 4BoyMom

Do I have to rinse Zen Shave off after shaving?
Rinsing is optional! You can choose to rinse with water, or you can simply massage the remaining crème directly into your face, underarms, or legs as a deeply hydrating aftershave or standalone body moisturizer.

"This crème is so nicely nourishing you can rinse off or simply massage into skin after shaving. I keep it on after applying on my underarms to shave. You smell so good after!"
— Cadie

Can this shaving crème help prevent ingrown hairs and razor bumps?
Yes, it is specifically designed to halt the friction cycle that causes ingrown hairs and bumps. Razor bumps happen when a blade aggressively scrapes against dry skin, causing micro-tears, while ingrown hairs occur when hairs get trapped beneath dried-out, hardened skin cells. The natural eicosenoic acid in our Jojoba helps dissolve hardened, oxidized surface lipids to keep pores clear, while the mucilaginous herbs provide a protective slickness and Peppermint provides bacterial static calm. This allows the blade to glide effortlessly, leaving the skin soft, supple, and bump-free.

"Thanks so much for formulating an awesome Zen Shave Creme! I'm an old lady who shaves her face & this creme makes my day! Leaving me feeling smooth, soft & supple afterwards... never have any razor bumps or irritation."
— RuthE

Can Zen Shave be used as an aftershave or lotion?
Yes. Effective as an aftershave, facial lotion, all-over daily body moisturizer, a spot treatment for dry or puffy skin patches, and as leave-in hair serum or pomade to smooth frizz, condition strands, and sculpt hair.

"I use Zen Shave as my facial moisturizer as well as a hair serum to keep my 'frizzies' in check. :) I can't live without it!" — Jill "I have also been using Zen Shave in my hair as well almost as a pomade, and it is by far the best male skin product I have ever used."
— Bryan

Is Zen Shave suitable for both men and women?
Yes, the scent, texture, glide and after shave smoothness is adored by men and women.

"I bought a couple of samples of Zen Shave... I gave one to my husband to try. He has redness and isn't really into men's skin care. But he's a true believer now. He says he's never had a better shave and his skin has never felt better."
